Celebrating 10 Years

In September, 2000 a group of Asian-American business, professional and community leaders from San Joaquin County established the Central Valley Asian-American Chamber of Commerce in Stockton, CA. Their intent was to focus on promoting business and economic development of the large and diverse Asian-American community. Known as the CVACC, they have addresses a variety of issued affection the community, including strenghtening cohesiveness among Asian-Americans, developing a stronger voice on socio-economic issues and enhacing access of Asian-American businesses to the larger community and markets. This Chamber would seek to promote and create a positive environment for Asian-American busineses and to further economic development their community.

In the 10 years following, we have grown substantially, providing members with opportunities to make new business contacts, showcase goods and services, gain business knowledge and build leadership skills. By coordinationg efforts with government agencies, educational institutions and trade associations, CVACC members also have access to public contracting and other business opportunities. The Chamber continues to maintain a voice in promotiong and protecting the interests of Asian-American and the entire Stockton/Central Valley business community, lending supoort on issues that affect both businesses and the community.

Business Development

Showcasing members' goods and services to different market segments in the community; providing business education and skills training; promoting networking and business contacts to develop new customers and business opportunities. The purpose of these activities is the promotion and enhancement of Asian American businesses. --MORE

Economic Development

Promotion of leadership skills in the Asia American community; developing linkages and working arrangements with local government and public sector agencies, advocating the interests and issues affecting Asian American economic issues. The purpose of these activities is the enhancement, promotion and participation of Asian Americans in the region's economic development.

Support and cooperation with programs and organizations designed to enhance cultural community activities, cultural and integration awareness, which includes linkages and understanding between Asian-American and the community at large.
